Crosswalk: Improving the Web Runtime, Leandro Pereira & Jesus Sanchez-Palencia

Crosswalk is an open source Web Runtime developed by Intel.

It aims to provide a portable enabler for HTML5+CSS+JavaScript based applications, but extending what is provided by the web platform. It comprises of an application Runtime Model, an implementation of the W3C SysApps APIs, and a JavaScript Extension Framework which allows vendors to add native capabilities. It uses Blink as its rendering and layout engine and Chromium’s Content Module.

In this presentation, Jesus Sanchez-Palencia and Leandro Pereira will be introducing Crosswalk and its Extension Framework by covering its architecture and key benefits. They will also demonstrate a set of Tizen Web APIs implemented with Crosswalk and benchmarks, which outperformed the current Tizen Web Runtime since day 1.

For last, they aim to provide feedback about the design of Tizen APIs and how they can be improved for Tizen 3.
